DNA

BallFiend was showing Gran something that he and I had made recently out of his toy (a recent birthday present): a model of a DNA double-helix spiral.

This is how it looks in the instruction booklet and ours looked pretty much the same.
Gran: Do you know what DNA is?
BallFiend: Yes! It’s the stuff in your cells that tells the cell how to make another cell.

That's my little science nerd!

Super Lego Mario

BallFiend has been fascinated Super Mario ever since DeepSpice and I started playing Super Paper Mario on the Wii about a year ago. (Thanks CutLuce and DesignerMonkey for the super-extended loan of the game). Well, he got some new Lego for his birthday (thanks Gran and GrandPaul and StompyDad) and ever since, he has been busy re-constructing the 2D-flip-into-3D Super Paper Mario world...

That's Mario, at the front to the right - with a yellow core and a light blue bit on top.
The peaceful street-scape of Flipside, with the tower looming over-head.

What the?

"What an earth have you doing!?"

Another problem solved

Thumper: sniff sniff
DeepSpice: Thumper, do you need your nose wiped?
Thumper: sniff sniff No I can sniff it back up my nose.
